Description
Mukarukundo Jeanne, pictured here with twin boys, is a caretaker for her community's Early Childhood Development Program. The program is an initiative of the Imbuto Foundation and is implemented nationally across Rwanda. It connects families to share the responsibility of supervising young children and aims to ensure children receive the needed attention to thrive. During the week, children are brought together, often in a home volunteered by a community member, and adults rotate looking after them. The program also helps pregnant women prepare for motherhood. The Imbuto Foundation is a Rwandan organization dedicated to advancing health, education, and youth empowerment.
